First SPECS, CoolestSG and Singapore Battery Consortium (SBC) inter-consortium partnership joint opening at Asia Clean Energy Summit, in conjunction with Singapore International Energy Week 2020


Smart Grid and Power Electronics Consortium Singapore (SPECS) with the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N) as part of the Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES) in conjunction with Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW 2020) was organizing the Grid Technology Use Cases Roundtable on the 29th October 2020 at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, which will focus on grid technology commercialization. The foremost academic & industry experts will present on how Institutes of Higher Learnings (IHLs) & Research Institutes (RIs) intellectual property (IP) & know-how transfer has accelerated both research and business outcomes.



  • Session #1 Grid Technologies (1~3pm)

The first Smart Grid and Power Electronics Consortium Singapore (SPECS), CoolestSG and Singapore Battery Consortium (SBC) inter-consortium partnership was inaugurated on 29 October 2020 at Marina Bay Sands. The programme directors of SPECS, CoolestSG and SBC shared with the members their programme vision, mission and focus areas. The session was moderated by the IEEE Power and Energy Society Treasurer, Prof Nouredine Hadjsaid, University of Grenoble Alpes., France.


Singapore Water Association (SWA) Council Member, Er Tse Yau Shing, make an impactful speech on SWA focus areas and projects. Singapore FinTech Association Founding President, Mr. Chia Hock Lai, make his maiden speech at the event, introducing the members' activities globally. Grid 2.0 technologies roundtable was actively articulated by Danfoss, T-RECS.ai, Rolls-Royce and Durapower.



  • Session #2 Future of Distribution Power Grids (3:25~5:15pm)

Speakers from ABB-Hitachi, Sunseap, EcoLabs, AVL/DE and Engie covered topics from enabling technologies driving stronger, smarter, greener distribution grids to cyber-secure operations during energy transformation.
